Obituary - Glany Saldanha

Glany Lassan Saldanha

August 27th, 1984 - January 18, 2026

With immense sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Glany Lassan Saldanha on January 18, 2026, at the age of 41, after a courageous four-year battle with a rare and relentless brain cancer.

Born in Ujire and raised in Belthangady, India, Glany was the cherished son of Ronald (predeceased) and Monthine Saldanha, and a loving brother to Preethi and Perlin. He was a devoted husband to Anitha, with whom he shared a loving marriage since 2015, and the proudest father to his beloved son, Gabriel.

Glany was a man of extraordinary faith, courage, and quiet strength. Despite enduring six brain surgeries and losing his sight, he never lost his smile or his unwavering trust in God. His life was defined by kindness, intelligence, humor, and an unshakable positivity that brought warmth and comfort to everyone around him. A gifted engineer, he worked across India, South Africa, and Canada, always known for his problem-solving mind and helpful nature.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Glany embraced adventure—from hiking mountains and trekking trails to gardening and volunteering in his community. He gave selflessly through service at food banks, parish initiatives, IT skill programs, and blood donation services. His generosity, curiosity, and love for music and learning left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Glany will be deeply missed by his wife Anitha, son Gabriel, mother Monthine, sisters Preethi (Leslie Gomes) and Perlin (Manoj D’Souza), his extended family, and many dear friends. His strength, faith, and gentle spirit will forever inspire us. Though his life was far too short, the love and impact he leaves behind are immeasurable.

We are profoundly grateful for the unwavering support of family, friends, community members, and the compassionate healthcare professionals who cared for him with dignity and devotion.

Visitation will be held at St. John of the Cross Carmelite Parish,
6890 Glen Erin Drive, Mississauga, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m.

The Rite of Committal (Burial) will take place immediately after the Mass at Canadian Canara Vision St. Peter’s Burial Ground, Meadowvale Cemetery,
7732 Mavis Road (north of Hwy 407). Guests are invited to proceed in procession from the church

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

On behalf of Canadian Canara Vision Inc.
